Dear Parents,
I am pleased to have your child in my class this year. I will do my best to make this a successful and happy year for both you and your child. Remember, many children have a difficult time settling into a routine after our summer vacation. Please, be patient with your child and allow time for adjustment, but also be firm by insisting that all school and home assignments be completed to the best of their abilities.
This year we will be building on reading and math foundations that were laid in earlier grades. It is in your child's best interest that we work together; therefore, I will let you know about things going on in our classroom. I will do this through the use of a Take Home Folder and a weekly Parent Information Letter. Please check for the Take Home folder each night and the Parent Information Letter weekly.
Below you will find specific details about what to expect in my classroom. I have listed our essential agreements, grading policy, and lots of other helpful information. However, as the year goes on, some things might change, but I will let you know if any changes occur or problems arise.
I am looking forward to a great year with you and your child. Please do not hesitate to call, send a note, e-mail, or schedule a conference if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress this school year.
Sincerely,
Courtney Tierney
