Nesom Middle School prepares Care Packages for the Troops

The Nesom family, headed by the Beta Club, collected items to send to the troops overseas. These weren't just any troops, the packages were sent to a team that does  EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technicians). When a convoy or patrol encounters an IED (Improvised Explosive Device), they are the ones going in to disarm it.  Nesom students were so happy to be able to collect 9 boxes full of different items to send to the troops.  Dedicated Beta Members : Kimberly Michelli (Beta VP), Elizabeth Richardson, Hanna Pellegrin, and Madison Dowell, carefully help pack each box and send a heartfelt card in each to wish and thank them!

 Hammond Westside Montessori

Chase Domangue is a 2nd grader at Hammond Westside Montessori School.  His classroom theme is "giraffes".  While Chase and his mom were out Christmas shopping, he found just the right gift for his teacher, Mrs. Colette Taillon!  Chase insisted on buying his teacher "giraffe PJs" for Christmas.  Mrs. Taillon loved the thoughtful gift so much that she wore it while pulling carpool duty.  The parents and students were greeted with a big giraffe smile and it made their day. Nesom Middle Food Drive

The Nesom Middle School Beta Club recently organized their annual food drive for the needy.  Nesom students, faculty and staff donated over 1,000 items to "Our Daily Bread" Food Bank. Our Daily Bread distributes food throughout communities in Tangipahoa Parish.
Nesom is currently conducting a "Care Package" drive for items to be wrapped and sent to our military troops serving overseas during this Christmas season.  If anyone would like to donate to this worthy cause, they can contact Mrs. Shana Neupert, Beta Club Sponsor, at 985-345-2166. Principal Charlotte Tillman is so proud of all the charitable efforts of Nesom Middle School students.

Ponchatoula High Recycled Christmas Tree

Shane Kraft's AP Environmental Science students at Ponchatoula High School proudly display their Recycled Christmas Tree and Ornament Project.  The tree is made from Coke/Diet Coke bottles stuffed with tulle from PHS spirit week tutus. The students made their ornaments at home using things that they had on hand (glue, glitter, paint from previous projects) with the idea of using something that they would normally throw away.
