Loranger Elementary School held Open House and Super Dad Fun Run on Monday, September 19.  Parents met with teachers in their classrooms then attended a general assembly.  Everyone completed the evening with a Superhero themed fun run.  Teachers, staff, parents and students had a wonderful night.

Musical Guests at HWM

Hammond Westside Montessori recently had special musical guests visit Mrs. Carol Crowe's special education classroom. The music was enjoyed by all of the children, some even requested songs and sang along. O.W. Dillon Leadership Academy Spelling Bee Winners

The Fall 2016 O.W. Dillon Leadership Academy Spelling Bee was held on Friday, September 23rd in the O.W. Dillon gym. Students in grades 3-6 participated in the event. Pictured are (from left to right) Ronny Johnson, 1st place, 6th grade; Jasmine Bailey, 2nd place, 5th grade; Lada Young, 3rd place, 3rd grade. Jasmine and Lada are now eligible to represent O.W. Dillon at the parish fair spelling bee next week.

Constitution Day at Roseland Montessori School

Celeste Shields, Hammond business attorney, visited Rainey Iasigi's 5th grade class at Roseland Montessori School. She spoke to the students about the Louisiana and U.S. Constitution as well as the steps on becoming on attorney. Mrs. Shields spoke to the class in recognition of Constitution Day which is September 17.

 Backpacks Full of Hope

Hammond Westside Montessori recently received a special surprise from "Backpacks Full of Hope." They donated backpacks and school supplies they had received through donations and purchases. These supplies will be used for displaced students who are at HWMS from the  recent flood. The school would like to thank "Backpacks Full of Hope" for their generosity and support of the school.     "The Preamble"

    Ms. Tyra Starkey's American History Class at Loranger High sang along with the School House version of "The Preamble" in celebration of September 17, Constitution Day.  The students also listed Amendments to the Constitution and viewed Andy Griffith's "Reciting of the Preamble" by Barney Fife.
