Electronic Chalkboard - Make sure that you read everything each morning to find out procedures, assignments and announcements for the day. Every day we will have morning activities/bell ringers like we did in TangiTech #1 and #2. Click on the morning activity to go to the explanation in the list below.

Problem of the day with Bamboo - You will find the Problem of the Day located in your e-mail. Open the e-mail that says, "Day 2 Problem of the Day". Use your Bamboo Tablet to complete the problem. Do not leave any steps out. Remember, you will work your problem in Paint. To get to Paint follow these steps. "Click",  "Start"> "Programs"> "Accessories"> then "Paint". After your have completed the Problem of the Day, save your work in your folder on the U Drive. Remember to save it as a Jpeg.

Find the area of the triangle using the Bamboo. Save it to your folder using your name and the word measurement. For example; colettemeasurement. Then, send it as an attachment through e-mail to ttmath@tangischools.org. Print 2 copies.

The area of a triangle can be found by multiplying the base by 1/2 of the height. Find the area of a triangle with a height of 20 cm and a width of 5 cm. Show all of your steps.

"Math"gizers - From time to time we need to take a break. Our brain is full and we need to get the blood flowing to our brain again so we can think. "Math"gizers are just like Energizers except we put a math twist to it. Get ready to stretch!

Pictures with Problems - Let's mesh writing, math and digital photography. Math is all around us. Look through your digital pictures at home or take some new pictures. What type of Math skills can you see in them. Do you see patterns? Do you see shapes? Higher order questions are all around us. Let's use digital pictures to create a poem, story, or questions that make you think mathematically.

Problem Pictures The 184 full-color photographs in Mathematical World stimulate curiosity and challenge students to reflect on the mathematics at work in the world around them. A related word problem accompanies each of these striking photos and invites students to think through the exciting mathematical challenges the photographs present. Depicting a wide range of intriguing everyday objects, historical artifacts, and patterns in the natural world, the images promote visual and spatial reasoning, interest in the history of mathematics, and problem-solving skills and also encourage students to explore mathematics in their own world.

Bookmaking Bonanza - Book-and-a-Half

To create a Book-and-a-Half, use the PowerPoint templates below. There are two files with templates in them. One set is vertical and the other is horizontal.

Book-and-a-Half Templates (vertical)
Book-and-a-Half Templates (horizontal)

You will need to print two slides. One slide has the full illustration and the other is half of the same illustration. Type the title of your story on the front cover before printing. After you print them, cut across the middle of the half illustration. This will be your front cover. The full illustration is your back cover. Staple the front cover and the story pages to the back cover. You are ready to write your story or poem.

Software - Inspiredata
Students use InspireData® to investigate, analyze, and represent data and information in dynamic graphs and charts. InspireData tools make it easy to change variables and plot types so students can explore data in multiple, meaningful ways. This encourages them to investigate data analytically, ask more questions, and apply their understanding of the data to form better conclusions and continue exploration.

Make it, Take it It's a fact that we learn better by doing. Let's take some time to put our hands on the concepts we are trying to grasp.

Tangi Tech Cook'n Learn Recipe Book
Tangi Tech workshops are filled with countless activities that reflect the subject that is being taught. Louisiana is also known for its wonderful food. Where there is a gathering of people, there is good food. Tangi Tech is no different. So in honor of all the good food that is brought to Tangi Tech for us to eat and keep us focused, we are putting together a cook book. One of the best ways to teach measurement is by cooking. So get ready to share your favorite recipe with your classmates and walk away with a wonderful cook book.
Below you will find several recipe templates to use for writing recipes. Choose the one
you like, then download it in to your folder on the U drive. Open it and write your recipe
to share with the class. You will print 22 copies.
