Techie Time:
Folder on the Server. A folder has been created on the server for you to to save your work in. I have shared this folder so that you will have access to your work from any computer in the lab. As we move around the lab and work in groups and present from my computer station you will see the value in this.
Introduce MICROSOFT WORD concepts: Entering text; don’t press “Enter” unless you want a new line; one space between words and sentences; editing by clicking in text to insert and pressing backspace or delete to erase; spelling and grammar checking; selecting and formatting text.
Basic Microsoft Word skills - Part I
Save your journal entry as “Day 1 Journal” to your folder and print two copies. Learn about  network printing and routine for picking up and filing printed work.

Discover Louisiana with Circle Map made in Inspiration. 

INSPIRATION:
Use INSPIRATION to brainstorm with the whole group recording facts about Louisiana. Refer to TangiTech Tips for INSPIRATION (HTML)
Techie Time with INSPIRATION – Record "What I Want to Know about Louisiana." Include Main Idea, changing font size, alignment of whole graphic, adding pictures, correcting, rapid fire.
INSPIRATION Exploration Time - Using INSPIRATION TangiTech Tips (HTML) create a Concept Map using facts gathered this morning. Print 2 copies of your project. Be sure your name is on your map.
Project requirements – Main Idea and at least four major categories… at least three graphics and your name.

Homework:
For homework tonight think about a unit of work you will be teaching, and how you will develop that into a Technology- Connected Lesson Plan before the end of the TangiTech Institute. Read the article listed below and be ready to discuss it  on Day Two.

The journal article "Computer Technology in the Classroom 101 by Laura Turner from Learning and Leading with Technology, Volume 30, Summer 2003 can be opened using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Day One Assignment (word) sheet gives step-by-step directions for determining RAM and hard drive capacity. 

Housekeeping
Make sure one copy of all printed work is filed in folder box and you have checked off completed activities on the clipboard by the file box. Collect supplies, and bring computers back to desktops.
