Southeastern Louisiana University visited
Hammond Westside's Accelerated Magnet students
to interview and film for a segment on the
Southeastern Channel.

Purpose of the A.M.P
Program
The
purpose of the Hammond Accelerated Magnet Program is to
provide academic excellence and promote diversity through
special curriculum while immersing students in the visual and
performing arts.
Description of Program
Hammond Accelerated Magnet program is part of
the Tangipahoa Parish School System. The Tangipahoa Parish
School System has developed a partnership with the City of
Hammond, Chamber of Commerce, and Southeastern Louisiana
University to develop a public school program that will
enhance the educational opportunities for parents and their
children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
All students entering the program will be
accepted through an objective criteria screening process.
Our goal is to build a quality program with future
expansions through high school.
